Bachata

Bachata is a sensual dance that originated in the countryside and rural, marginal neighborhoods of the Dominican Republic in the 1960's. The lyrics of Bachata songs are usually romantic and the body movements and steps of the dance are comparable to the Lambada.

Ballet

Develop the fundamentals of dance through control, poise, precision, fluency and grace using the technique and style of ballet. With classical ballet barré, center work and progressions this class improves fundamentals including body alignment, vocabulary and correct positions of the legs, feet and arms. Students who are serious about improving as dancers will find that ballet classes are an important part of their training.

Note: Combination classes may include the following: tap, ballet, creative movement, jazz and tumbling. A wide variety of styles are used in the combination class to allow students to explore and experience the possibilities of movement. This variety also gives the teacher a base to make the class stimulating. When a student chooses to concentrate on a particular dance style, the individual classes in tap, jazz, hip hop, ballet or tumbling are recommended.

Contemporary

Contemporary focuses primarily on executing choreography combinations which will utilize and expand the dancer's acquired technique and performance quality. Class requires at least one year of jazz or ballet technique class and/or instructor approval.

Hip Hop
